CNBC reported on 27 October 2026 that Nvidia and AMD will invest a combined USD 4 billion in Meta, after Meta announced plans to raise USD 95 billion for AI infrastructure. Nvidia said it would invest USD 3 billion, while AMD said it would invest USD 1 billion.

Meta’s financing plan

Meta said on Monday that it would initially raise USD 35 billion through underwritten public equity offerings. It also plans to raise another USD 60 billion through an at-the-market programme.

Meta’s earlier announcement said Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom were interested in buying up to USD 5 billion in shares. The announced Nvidia and AMD investments account for USD 4 billion of that amount.

Chip suppliers move closer to buyers

Nvidia said Meta would expand deployment of Vera Rubin and Vera CPUs. It also said the companies would work more closely on Muse, Meta’s AI agent, which launched last month.

AMD said its Helios racks were running at Meta and that its EPYC processors were powering Muse. AMD CEO Lisa Su said the companies were building and deploying infrastructure at gigawatt scale and working on silicon, software and systems for Meta’s models and services.

The investments place chip suppliers on both sides of the AI infrastructure market. They sell compute platforms to large AI buyers, while also taking equity positions in some of the same companies building demand for those platforms.

Wider investment pattern

Nvidia has invested in OpenAI, Anthropic, Intel and XAI. Dealroom data cited in the announcement says Nvidia has participated in 121 investment rounds so far in 2026, compared with 13 in 2022.

AMD said in July that it would make an equity investment of up to USD 5 billion in Anthropic. The company has been involved in 25 funding rounds in 2026, compared with two in 2022.

The immediate market reaction was mixed. AMD shares were up 3% on Tuesday, Nvidia was flat, and Meta was down 1%.

When chip suppliers finance the buyers of their hardware, AI capacity planning becomes a question of Azure architecture, hybrid cloud, cost and platform engineering in ECS's Infrastructure topic. Sessions and workshops give attendees space to compare capacity assumptions, supplier dependencies and operating costs with product group and practitioner input. Bring procurement and architecture questions that are hard to settle from headline funding figures alone.
